How do I change the outbound SMTP port in Windows Mail (Vista/Windows 7).
  • Open Windows mail and select "Accounts" from the "Tools" menu.
  • Select the account and click on "Properties".
  • Click on the "Advanced" tab.
  • Set the "Outgoing mail (SMTP)" setting to (normally 587 for authenticated SMTP)
  • Click "OK" and then "Close"
